The final night of Cardi B’s Little Miss Drama Tour almost did not happen. Hours before her second sold-out show at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday (April 18), the rapper went live on Instagram to air a heated confrontation with what appeared to be venue staff, telling them directly that she had no intention of taking the stage. “Your employees are being disrespectful. I’m not performing today,” she said in the clip, demanding to speak with management. “We got in here, your employees are being rude for no reason. I did 35 shows, and I never had a problem, and we’ve been kind to everybody.”
The dispute centered on the alleged treatment of members of her team upon arrival for the second of two back-to-back nights at the venue. The previous night, Friday (April 17), had run without incident and featured surprise guests T.I., Jeezy, and Mariah the Scientist. Saturday’s confrontation was a sharp contrast, and Cardi made her frustration public rather than keeping it behind closed doors. She addressed the situation again from the stage once the show did go on, telling the crowd the arena had been “playing games” with her and that she would rather perform in a parking lot than return to State Farm Arena in the future. Billboard reached out to State Farm Arena and Cardi’s representatives for comment, and had not received a response at time of publication.
Despite the pre-show tension, the show went on and delivered one of the tour’s most memorable moments. Late in the set, Cardi brought out Missy Elliott as a surprise guest, who performed “Get Ur Freak On” and “Lose Control” to a sold-out crowd. “Are you serious? Oh my God, hold on, I’m trying to have a moment,” Cardi said as Elliott left the stage.
After the show, Cardi posted on X: “When you hold power and authority, use it with kindness and respect. Never abuse it… because not everyone will endure your arrogance in silence. Treat others exactly like you demand to be treated. Atlanta… I’ll see you soon.”
